Teheran out duels deGrom as Braves defeat Mets, 7-3
Julio Teheran allowed just one run over six strong innings to help the Atlanta Braves defeat the Mets 7-3. Josh Donaldson homered for the second straight game while Ozzie Albies finished with two hits including a triple. Atlanta improves to 9-6 on the season and wins the final two games of the series to earn a split.
Braves option Sean Newcomb to Gwinnett, place Arodys Vizcaino on injured list
The Braves made a couple of roster moves prior to Sunday’s game optioning starter Sean Newcomb to Triple-A Gwinnett and placing closer Arodys Vizcaino on the 10-day injured list due to right shoulder inflammation. Jacob Webb and Dan Winkler were recalled from Gwinnett to take their place on the active roster.

Kimbrel reportedly lowers asking price
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports that free agent closer Craig Kimbrel has reportedly lowered his contract demands. A report from last week suggested that Kimbrel was still looking for a six-year deal worth around $120 million as soon as late March. Rosenthal reports that he has lowered his demands to more of something in line of what Zach Britton and Wade Davis have received over the last couple of offseasons.
Trout (groin) improving, will join Angels in Texas
Mike Trout’s groin injury has improved enough that he will join the team in Texas for their upcoming series against the Rangers.
Francisco Lindor To Begin Rehab Assignment
Indians’ shortstop Francisco Lindor is set to begin a minor league rehab assignment and could be nearing his 2019 debut. Lindor suffered a calf strain prior to the start of spring training. He then suffered a high ankle sprain while working his way back from the calf injury. He will report to Triple-A Columbus later this week.
Indians Select Carlos Gonzalez’s Contract
The Indians also selected the contract of outfielder Carlos Gonzalez on Sunday adding him to the active roster. Gonzalez agreed to a minor-league deal with the club a few weeks back.
Tigers’ Moore (torn meniscus) to have surgery
Tigers’ pitcher Matt Moore will undergo knee surgery to repair torn meniscus in his right knee. He suffered the injury during a start back on April 6. Moore’s surgery is scheduled for Wednesday and there is no timetable for his return.
Brewers Acquire David Freitas From Mariners
The Milwaukee Brewers picked up some catching depth on Sunday acquiring catcher David Freitas from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for minor league pitcher Sal Biasi. Freitas will report to Triple-A.
