If you haven’t been following the early goings of spring training for the Braves this year, Atlanta has gotten the spring training injury bug. While none of the injuries, for the moment anyways, appear to be serious, the Braves have dealt with injuries to Mike Soroka, Mike Foltynewicz, Dansby Swanson, Luiz Gohara, AJ Minter, Max Fried, and Kevin Gausman among others. Most of the injuries have involved soreness in elbows and shoulders amongst the pitchers although Fried just cut himself on his thumbnail while pitching and Dansby’s wrist was just sore after undergoing off-season surgery.
Obviously, none of that is ideal as you want your players to be able to get their work in and build up to a full workload on Opening Day and several of these players now will not be ready by then. However, that does not mean that they are not on the mend.
Swanson could debut tomorrow in Tampa, but we won't get confirmation until he works out this morning. Gausman is throwing live BP today and will likely make his first start within the next few days.. A.J. Minter hopes to begin playing catch again tomorrow.

Last week, the team announced that Soroka was already back throwing after tweaking his shoulder while working out and now it looks like more of the ailing Braves should get back in on the action soon. As Bowman reports, Swanson could get into the lineup as early as tomorrow depending on how his workouts today go. Gausman could see action soon, too, after dealing with some shoulder soreness of his own. AJ Minter had some tightness in his shoulder after a minor car accident and now it looks like he will also begin building his workload back up in the next couple of days. Nothing is certain in the world of pitchers and injuries, but it looks like the Braves are on the path to getting healthy again soon.
