After not facing the Nationals for something like two years, our old friends are headed to Atlanta for a four-game series just three days removed from the three-game series in Washington over the weekend.
Game one on Thursday night will be a rematch of the pitching duel from Saturday. On the mound for the Braves will be Rob Whalen. He struggled against the Nationals and gave up five extra-base hits and six runs in five innings of work on Saturday. Reynaldo Lopez will be taking the rubber for Washington. He gave up just a solo home run to Freddie Freeman in seven innings of work for his first win.
The lineup is ... disappointing again. Dansby Swanson will be batting eighth, which seems like a good place if you're trying to get your prized prospect the least amount of at bats possible. Tyler Flowers will be making his first start since July 9 against the White Sox.
