Dallas Keuchel will look to continue his streak of effective starts Wednesday afternoon when the Atlanta Braves wrap up a three-game set against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Braves took Monday’s series opener 4-1 but suffered a lopsided 13-1 loss on Tuesday.
Keuchel has given the Braves exactly what they wanted as he has rounded into form quickly after a long layoff. He has allowed a total of five earned runs over his last three starts while throwing at least seven innings in each. He limited the Padres to six hits and one run over seven innings last Friday. Keuchel has allowed an abundance of baserunners, including a season-high four walks in his last start, but has been able to limit the damage.
The Brewers will counter with right-hander Chase Anderson who is working on a solid stretch of his own. Anderson has allowed two runs or less in four starts although he hasn’t pitched more than 5 2/3 innings in any of those starts. He allowed three hits, two runs and struck out five over five innings in his last start against the Giants.
Freddie Freeman is 4-for-12 with a homer in his career against Anderson. The Braves could use Freeman to get going again after he has hit just .224/.308/.483 with four home runs over his last 15 games. Freeman is 1-for-6 in the first two games of the series with a homer.
First pitch from Miller Park is scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET and can be seen on Fox Sports Southeast.
