There will be no draft pick signing drama for the Atlanta Braves this time around. The Braves and No. 9 pick overall Shea Langeliers have an agreement on a $4 million deal according to a report by Jon Heyman.
Shea Langeliers agrees to $4M deal with Brsves. No. 9 overall pick. Baylor catcher is brilliant defender. Compensation pick for failing to sign first rounder Carter Stewart last year.

That reported $4 million dollar figure is important as it is just under one million under slot value for the ninth pick. The Braves will be looking to use that extra money to lock in some of the rest of their 2019 draft class.
Langeliers was regarded as the second best catcher prospect in the draft behind only Adley Rutschman who was the first overall pick by the Baltimore Orioles. His defense is his calling card but he has a still developing offensive game as well. Braves Vice President of Scouting Dana Brown told reporters after the draft that they think Langeliers is a prospect that could move quickly through the system.
The team has not yet confirmed the signing and we will update this article when that happens.
