Road to Atlanta Podcast: Talking Braves Prospects and the 2019 Draft with Jim Callis

This week the boys are joined by Jim Callis where we talk prospects, the draft, and more.

Road to Atlanta is our weekly podcast where we discuss all things minor leagues and prospects for our beloved Atlanta Braves. We have relaunched the podcast and it can be found in the same stream with the Talking Chop podcast, so if you subscribe to it...you have easy access to R2A as well. Episodes will go live (most of the time) every Thursday evening and will cover a wide range of topics including top performances from the previous week, deep dives into specific prospects or topics, and lots of sweet guests.

In this week’s episode of Road to Atlanta, we had a really special guest. First, the three of us give you the usual update as to what is going on in the farm system with some of the top performers from the last week or so. Brace yourselves...there is a good bit of Austin Riley in the first segment as well as tidbits on members of the Mississippi rotation, Drew Waters and Cristian Pache, and Trey Harris who has been absolutely raking for Rome.

After that, we were fortunate enough to be able to bring Jim Callis from MLB Pipeline on to the show despite his busy schedule (and my pestering him constantly....sorry Jim). Jim talks to us a bit about some of the big position player prospects in the Braves system, gives a ton of insight into the state of power numbers in the minors (in particular in Triple-A) due to the baseballs being used, and then takes a dive with us into what we can expect to see from the 2019 MLB Draft from the Braves at least as an early glance. Jim was an absolute joy to record with and gave us a ton of insight. Enjoy!
