SB Nation’s FanPulse results for Week 6 are in and we once again see confidence in the Atlanta Braves headed in the wrong direction. For the second week in a row, confidence in Brian Snitker’s performance is down slightly but this week we saw confidence in the direction of the team plummet to a season-low number.
Let’s talk about Snitker first. His numbers fell again from 76 percent last week to 71 percent this week. It is still a strong number and better than many other managers around the league. In my opinion, Snitker is Snitker. There will be some decisions that will drive you crazy but that is true for a lot of managers. However, he has the confidence of his players and that is the most important part.
While I can tie Snitker’s results to the results of the team, however the results to the fan confidence in the overall direction of the team have been interesting to say the least.
The Braves are a .500 team as of this writing and are largely so due to a struggling bullpen. Even though the cries have gotten louder on social media in regards to the team’s failure to address the pen this offseason and the continued availability of free agent closer Craig Kimbrel, voting had remained strong. Until this week.
Our voting results show that confidence in the direction of the Braves plummeted from 84 percent last week to 58 percent this week. That is a new season-low and only the second time this season that it has been below 84 percent. Perhaps voters finally figured out that this question is basically an approval rating on Alex Anthopoulos and the front office, or the latest bullpen struggles from earlier this week finally pushed a wave of supporters over the edge. You let me know what you think in the comments below.
Our national question this week centered on the debut of Toronto Blue Jays prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and how many Wins Above Replacement he will put up this season.
