As expected, the Atlanta Braves have activated catcher Brian McCann from the 10-day injured list. Alex Jackson was returned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

McCann had been sidelined with a strained hamstring that he suffered back on April 6 in a game against the Marlins. He has appeared in just five games this season going 4-for-14 at the plate with four runs batted in. McCann indicated during Tuesday’s broadcast that he had been working out on the field and that the injury had pretty much healed. He participated in an on-field workout Tuesday and will return without making a rehab trip to the minors.
Jackson returns to Gwinnett after his first big league experience. He appeared in three games going 0-for-10 at the plate with a walk and three strikeouts. Most importantly though, Jackson looked comfortable behind the plate and will continue to serve as depth should the Braves need him to fill in for McCann or Tyler Flowers again.
