Position players continue to arrive early to camp for the Atlanta Braves. Marquee offseason addition Josh Donaldson was among a group of players that arrived on Sunday that also included Ender Inciarte, Ozzie Albies and Johan Camargo. Donaldson, to his credit, is ready to get to work telling The Athletic’s David O’Brien that this is the second time that Alex Anthopoulos has taken a chance on him and that he is looking forward to proving it wasn’t a mistake.

Donaldson also said that he was excited and appreciative of his opportunity with the Braves. He talked about his focus, his health and his situation in Atlanta.

Donaldson didn’t waste any time getting hitting the cages and as you can see from the videos below, appears to be locked in. He drew rave reviews from the reporters that witnessed his batting practice session on the field and in the cage.

Darren O’Day came to the Braves last season in the Kevin Gausman deal but was injured and was unable to pitch. He spent the offseason working out with Mike Foltynewicz and Charlie Culberson and is ready to have an impact on the Braves’ bullpen in 2019.

O’Day says that he hopes that the hamstring injury is behind him and that he can be an effective piece of Atlanta’s bullpen.

Jonny Venters is another veteran that could play a big part in Atlanta’s bullpen. He talked with Fox Sports’ Cory McCartney about winning the NL Comeback Player of the Year award last season and his outlook for the season ahead.
