We may have an answer as to what the Atlanta Braves’ plans will be for Saturday’s doubleheader against the New York Mets. MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reports that lefty prospect Sean Newcomb will get the call and make his major league debut in Game 1 of the doubleheader.

With the assumption Wisler will be the 26th man (available for the second game of a DH), Newcomb will liklely start the first game.

Newcomb had been slated to start Wednesday’s game for Gwinnett but Andrew Albers will now take his place.
Newcomb was No.5 on Talking Chop’s preseason prospect list. He is 3-3 in 11 starts at Gwinnett with a 2.97 ERA. He still often struggles at times with his command and control walking 33 batters in 57 2⁄3 innings but has the stuff to make batters miss as his 74 strikeouts suggest. Opponents are hitting just .212 against him and he has allowed just three home runs this season.
