The Rebuild "plan" seems to be build a solid farm system to create a steady flow of talent and from which to trade from to address needs of the big league team. I believe this trade deadline and/or offseason will be the time which the Braves will begin to make big trades involving some of our highly touted prospects. A another year will have pasted for the prospects to develop and for the team to evaluate who to keep and who to trade. They keep saying pitching is the best currency. And they have aggressively advanced most of that amazing Rome rotation from last year to double A not only progressing their development but also advancing their value. We also have several guys in triple A that have value. Not to mention the gluttony of high upside prospects we have in the lower levels of the farm. Often the question is not only who to trade but also when to trade to maximize the return.

Double A is often where many prospects are deemed ready for the major leagues. Players are facing a talent level more along the lines of the big leagues. Guys may not necessarily be a finished product or may still be refining their skill but a lot of the weaker talented players have been weeded out. After a successful season in AA the only thing left for prospects to prove is that they can do the same and stick in the major leagues. This is where the braves have to know the players better than anyone else and make an educated guess as to who will make it and who won't. They want to sell high to maximize their return and for many of these guys this will be their peak value.

As fans we get attached to certain players as we follow their development. We all have favorites and some we don't care for. But the FO is in the driver seat when making trades and won't let fan favorites get in their way.

Personally, my untouchables (relative term only, no one is truly untouchable) would be: Maitan, Allard, Soroka, Acuna

Guys I would trade but, DON'T WANT TO: Albies, Fried, Newcomb, Weigel, Demeritte, Riley

Guys I don't mind trading for the right package: Ruiz, Sims, Davidson, Sanchez, Seymour

Guys who I want to keep to allow their value to mature: A. Jackson, Touki, Gohara, Peterson, Wentz
