The Atlanta Braves have recalled infielder Johan Camargo from Triple-A Gwinnett to replace third baseman Adonis Garcia on the team’s active roster. Garcia was placed on the 10-day disabled list late Tuesday night due to Achilles tendonitis.

Camargo was hitting .307/.340/.466 in 22 games at Gwinnett so far this season. He had a brief stint with the Braves earlier this season appearing in five games while going 1-for-4 at the plate.
Jace Peterson is expected to see the bulk of action at third base against right handed pitching while Garcia is sidelined. Camargo has the ability to play all over the infield and will likely step into Peterson’s utility role.
