Folty has another solid outing in spring
The Braves lost yet again in spring training, which Brian Snitker isn’t sweating in the least bit (and you shouldn’t be sweating it, either). One of the reasons why the manager isn’t concerned about the results is that he’s still getting solid performances from who he believes are going to be contributors to the major league squad. Mike Foltynewicz is an example of this, as he threw another five good innings for the Braves on Tuesday afternoon.
Braves show interest in two players from both sides of Chicago
Meanwhile, it might finally be officially Spring now, but the hot stove is still lit for the Braves. Atlanta is still looking for a bench outfielder, and Matt Szczur from the Cubs is a player that the Braves may be targeting. The focus on Chicago continues, as there are now rumors that the Braves are also still in on the Jose Quintana sweepstakes. Quintana would come with a steep asking price, but it’s one that the Braves could potentially meet with their wealth of prospects.
Albies gets reassigned to minor league camp
Ozzie Albies had a rough day on Tuesday. He had a minor injury scare when he had to exit Tuesday’s contest after fouling a ball off of his knee. The day was capped off when the team decided to send Ozzie to minor league camp. The good news is that, again, the injury is minor so there’s no long-term concerns here and I’d say that there’s a good chance that this won’t be the last time we see Albies playing with the big leaguers in 2017.
CBS Sports previews the Braves
We’ve got another preview on the Braves, and this one comes from R.J. Anderson over at CBS Sports. It includes spotlights on Dansby Swanson and Mauricio Cabrera and also includes a Win/Loss prediction as well, so if you want to see what one particular outlet thinks of the Braves’ chances this season, then this is worth checking out.

USA will face Puerto Rico in the WBC Final
For the first time ever, USA baseball will be playing in the Final of the World Baseball Classic. After edging by the Dominican Republic in a thriller, the USA once again had to squeeze past a very good Japanese squad in order to make it to the Final. Adam Jones was once again involved in the game’s biggest moment, and his grounder to third base ate up Nobuhiro Matsuda and allowed Brandon Crawford to score what ended up being the game-winning run. They’ll be playing Puerto Rico tonight for the title, and hopefully it’ll be a proper capper to what’s been a highly-entertaining tournament.

Price may be out until May
David Price may have dodged a bullet when it came to the structural integrity of his elbow when it was examined by Dr. James Andrews, but he’s not out of the woods yet. There are reports that his arm is weaker than it was than when he arrived to spring training, and that means that he could end up missing time until May. Clearly, the Red Sox have to be concerned with what’s going on with Price and his arm.
