Atlanta fans who have been holding their breath about Freddie Freeman and Julio Teheran risking their health by participating in the World Baseball Classic can collectively breathe a sigh of relief.
Freeman and Team Canada were eliminated from the WBC following an 8-0 loss at the hands of the U.S. Team on Sunday. Freeman finished the tournament 2-11 with an RBI.
Teheran and Colombia were also knocked out on Sunday. Their removal came via an extra innings thriller that saw the Dominican Republic score seven runs in the top of the eleventh inning to send Teheran and his team home with a 10-3 loss. Teheran made one start in the tournament against Canada - allowing just two hits (one of which was an RBI single from Freeman) over five innings while striking out three.
MLB.com’s Mark Bowman reported Tuesday that Freeman will return to the Braves’ lineup tomorrow for their game against the Detroit Tigers. Teheran is expected to make his next start with the Braves later in the week.

There has been no official report on when Teheran will make his next start. However, a start on either Friday against the Houston Astros or Saturday against Detroit would line him up for a start on Opening Day in New York on Monday, April 3.
Mark Bowman also shed light on a situation that happened in Tuesday’s Spring Training game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Micah Johnson made a diving grab, falling awkwardly on his glove wrist. Bowman reported that Johnson’s wrist was X-rayed and the results came back negative.
