The Atlanta Braves are looking for bullpen help and will call up the newly acquired David Aardsma from Triple-A Gwinnett. To make room on the active roster the Braves will option Cody Martin to Gwinnett.

Atlanta signed Aardsma to a minor league deal on June 7 after he was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He made one appearance for Gwinnett throwing a perfect inning on Sunday. Aardsma hasn't pitched in the majors since 2013 when he was with the Mets. He has a career record of 15-17 with a 4.23 ERA to go along with 69 saves over an eight year career.
After a hot start to the season, Martin has struggled mightily of late as has most of the Braves' bullpen. Martin allowed just two earned runs over his first 11 2/3 innings this season. He has allowed 11 earned runs in 10 innnings since that start.
The move makes a lot of sense for the Braves at this point who have the worst bullpen ERA in the majors. Aardsma has nothing to prove in the minor leagues and Atlanta can't afford to wait around hoping that the situation corrects itself.
