Talking Chop March Madness Is Back!

Hey everyone,

For the last three years I've run a March Madness bracket for TC readers and it's back once again this year. It's a pretty basic Yahoo! scoring setting, is free to play and the winner gets some serious bragging rights around the site.

Completely optional, but using your TC username as the name of your bracket would make it much easier to identify the winner.

Are you referring to a UNC that kept it’s best defensive player from suiting up, because the head coach was focusing on the bigger prize?

And you can’t really talk about the Duke game after the ass-whooping the Heels put on them in Cameron.

Not really. They’ve been rocked by injuries, but outside of that, they’ve been just fine.

I just watched

A team win a state championship with a perfect, undefeated season. The first words from their coach, “We won without a senior this year, and hopefully that year of experience will allow us to be more consistent next year.”

Consistency has very little to do with winning record. You can have a very wavering consistency and still have enough talent to win the vast majority of your games.

In college hoops

where more than 30 of those teams they played were much less talented, yes it is inconsistent. Do you know what you’re talking about? Of their 5 losses, at least 3 were to inferior teams if not 4.

Actually, in two different brackets, I have two different teams from that region - Wisky and FSU.

Because we have one of the best D’s in the country, have a top 55 RPI, won 20 games while playing in the BE, and are better than any team that didn’t make the tourney and better than some others that did (Iona).

The real question is why are we playing a play-in game for a 12th seed? Shouldn’t the play-ins be for the 15/16 seeds???

I’m usually horrible at this. In only two games do I have the lower seed winning.

Just for the fun of it, I auto-filled with random picks and I got Indiana beating NC St. in the Finals and UNC was bounced in the first round. :)

2/ 7,000,000 brackets on ESPN are still perfect

I’m doing pretty horrible.

But I’m the only person in my bracket w/ OSU winning it all so if they can do it I’ll win.

That’s why you should pick UK, your bracket has to be great along with UK winning because the majority picked UK

I have 3 brackets

ONE has all 3 final four teams. Mizzou was in two and Duke in one. The one I still have left has NO #1 seeds in it (Baylor, Louisville, Wisconsin, and Kansas). Ugh!
