It sure is nice to have your Triple-A affiliate just down the road. The Braves sure make full use of that luxury on a regular basis.

After the first game of a doubleheader against the Cardinals on Sunday which featured some questionable bullpen management from the Braves’ Brian Snitker, the Braves decided to avail themselves of the fact that there were some available bullpen arms right down the road at Gwinnett.

A couple of notes here: one, Jacob Webb’s name being featured on a transaction log is hardly news, but it is a bit weird that the Cardinals did not agree to have a 27th man on both team’s rosters for game one but seem to have agreed to it for game two. Will be interesting to see how that is explained.

Bryse is obviously not going to be available for a bit after pitching in the first game today, so the Braves decided to send him back to Gwinnett and bring up Ty Tice for the first time in a Braves uniform. The Braves acquired Tice from the Blue Jays in a cash deal back on June 4th. He has made four appearances for Gwinnett since then and has given up one run in 4.1 innings while striking out six batters and walking none. It is the definition of a small sample, but he has looked good at least.
