Well, it has been a busy day in Braves country.
First, we found out that the Braves’ best starter, at least so far, this season is headed to the IL as Huascar Ynoa broke his hand after leaving his most recent start and punching a bench. If that isn’t this Braves’ season in a nutshell, I don’t know what is.
Then, immediately after that, manager Brian Snitker announced that Mike Soroka’s procedure on his Achilles went well as they cleaned out the area. Still no word yet on when Soroka could return as he will have to be re-evaluated, but it sure seems like it is definitely far less likely that he will return this season than previously thought.
Now, we have another roster move.
The #Braves today recalled INF Johan Camargo from Triple-A Gwinnett and placed OF Ender Inciarte on the paternity list.— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) May 17, 2021
In fairness, this move is for all the right reasons as it looks like Ender Inciarte just became a dad. It is unclear as to how much this will realistically change the Braves’ plans in the near future as Guillermo Heredia was already starting tonight’s game. Depending on how long Ender is tending to his dad duties, Heredia could see more playing time than planned, but paternity list stints typically are not very long.
