The Atlanta Braves placed reliever Chris Martin on the 10-day injured list Saturday morning due to right shoulder inflammation. The Braves recalled reliever Jacob Webb to take Martin’s place on the roster.
The #Braves today recalled RHP Jacob Webb from the team’s alternate training site and placed RHP Chris Martin on the 10-day IL, retroactive to April 7, with right shoulder inflammation.— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) April 10, 2021
Martin last appeared on April 4 in Philadelphia where he allowed three hits, a walk and a run in just two-thirds of an inning. He left that outing early due to what was described as some numbness in his fingers. Brian Snitker told reporters Friday that he was hoping Martin would be available for Saturday’s game but unfortunately that will not be the case. Martin has made two appearances this season allowing four hits, one run and one walk in 1 2/3 innings.
Webb pitched well during the spring but was sent to the alternate site before the end of spring training. He was promoted to be the 27th man for the doubleheader in Washington earlier this week but did not get into either game.
