Otherwise, it’s the usual gang

No huge surprises for the Braves in tonight’s lineup — Freddie Freeman and Travis d’Arnaud are back, Riley continues to rest while he can, and Nick Markakis sits in favor of Ender Inciarte.

We’re almost through with the season, but the Braves are still finding ways to run novel defensive lineups and batting orders out there — this is one of them. They’ve actually used one lineup for five games, or 1/12th of the season, which is kind of wild if you think about it given all the injuries they’ve had.

For the Red Sox, both Rafael Devers and Xander Bogaerts return, and Christian Vazquez is back and starting behind the plate. This is their second time using this lineup — they lost 13-1 to the Orioles using this one on Thursday, and we can hope something that unfortunate happens for them again this game as the Braves take aim at Tanner Houck.

There’s basically nothing to be said about matchups, here, as Houck and Tucker Davidson have two combined major league starts between them (both Houck’s). First pitch is at 7:10 pm EDT.
