If the Braves’ lineup against the Orioles looks familiar, its because it is literally the exact same lineup that they employed last night including having Travis d’Arnaud behind the plate and batting cleanup.
In theory, the lineup as constructed is excellent, especially with Freddie being moved up to the two spot right behind Acuna. That change was a very welcome one. However, there are a couple of players including Ronnie, Austin Riley, Dansby Swanson, and Nick Markakis that have seen varying degrees of dips in their performance over the last few games, so here’s hoping they break out tonight after a tough night last night in particular.
For the Orioles, their lineup also looks familiar and has a couple of names to keep an eye out for. Jose Iglesias had a big night against the Braves last night and sports a 141 wRC+ on the season after five straight seasons of being below average at the plate. 2020 is a wild one. Ryan Mountcastle is one of the hotter hitters in baseball and also appears to be the most dangerous bat in Baltimore’s lineup as of right now...as the Braves found out the hard way last night.
