In what will be the first of hopefully four articles, the Braves have agreed to terms with fourth round draft pick Spencer Strider out of Clemson University.
4th-rder Spencer Strider signs with @Braves for $451,800 (full slot value at 126). Clemson RHP, missed 2019 following TJ surgery, came back to hit 95 mph this spring while making progress with secondary pitches & control. @MLBDraft

As the tweet states the Braves are going after projectability here as Spencer wasn’t considered a fourth round talent, due to limited time on the field, but the potential is definitely there. Spencer could be a fast riser if his secondary pitches continue to develop and he begins to harness his command a bit more because there is no doubting the potential, especially potentially out of the bullpen. At full slot value, expect one or two of the other Braves draft picks to go under slot so that they can sign all four players.
