The 2020 MLB Draft is now scheduled and, with a lot of uncertainty with the rest of baseball’s hiatus, the content mill will be churning in a big way between now and June 10 when the selection process begins. In advance of draft day, Talking Chop will be diving into the draft with both feet and, on this week’s episode of the TC Podcast, an old friend stops by to discuss the proceedings.
Yes, that means Baseball America’s Carlos Collazo — who happens to be a former host of the podcast — joins us for Episode 216 and topics include the following:
- The fallout from the massive decision to shorten the draft to five rounds
- How are teams handling this change from a scouting perspective? How will it change the evaluation process?
- What is the strength of this draft and how does it differ from previous drafts with a lot more data available on these prospects?
- Some prospects the Braves have been linked to and how much different it is with the Braves not picking until 25th in the first round
- Much, much more
