Today the Braves will hope to continue their good play of late as they have won 10 of their last 12 games.
On the mound for Atlanta will be Dallas Keuchel facing off against Reynaldo Lopez of the White Sox.
Keuchel has been just what the Braves needed over his first 78.2 innings with the team as he has pitched to a 3.78 ERA and 4.72 FIP. Keuchel has especially been great in his last three starts where he struck out 21 batters over 19 innings, so he’ll look to keep that up today.
Lopez has not had the same good season as his ERA sits above 5.00 and his peripheral stats are not good either with a FIP of 4.97. Lopez is walking nearly 3.5 batters per nine innings and the strikeouts have not been stellar. Lopez’s calling card this season has been his ability to eat innings for the White Sox as he already sits at 152.1 this season. Lopez has been plagued by the home runs this season as he’s allowing 1.6 per game on average.
The Braves are hotter than the surface of the sun just like they’ve been for most of the season, so we’ll see if they can take care of business as they should today. Stay tuned.
