Atlanta Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson is progressing in his return from a heel injury and the team is hopeful that he will be ready to go when he is eligible to come off the injured list on August 3 against the Reds. Swanson did pregame work on the field in Washington prior to Monday’s series opener against the Nationals per The Athletic’s David O’Brien.
#Braves' Swanson is moving around well, showing no lingering signs of soreness in his foot, did pregame work on field. Snitker said they think he'll be ready day he's eligible to come off 10-day IL, barring any setback.

Swanson suffered the injury in last week’s series against the Royals. He sat out Wednesday in hopes that he’d be ready to go following Thursday’s off day. However, that wasn’t the case and the Braves made the move to put him on the injured list last Saturday.
Swanson is enjoying his best offensive season of his young career hitting .265/.330/.468 with 17 homers and 21 doubles through 100 games. Johan Camargo has seen all of the playing time at shortstop in Swanson’s absence.
