The 2019 season has been a roller coaster ride for the Atlanta Braves and for fans of the team as well. Week 7 of SB Nation’s FanPulse voting results are in and they are positive once again after the team opened a 10-game road trip with a sweep in Miami against the Marlins. However, we all know what happened after that so we can probably expect a sharp decline next week.
For now, let’s look at these results. Fan confidence in the direction of the team, which I define as confidence in the on-field product along with the performance of the front office, recovered this week improving from a season-low 58 percent to 76 percent. As you can see from the chart below, it has been overall pretty steady with a few valleys thrown in.
While confidence in the direction of the team has been up and down, confidence in manager Brian Snitker has remained pretty steady throughout the season. This week’s voting results show that 78 percent of Braves fans approve of Snitker’s performance. That is up from 71 percent last week and he has been at 71 percent or above for six of the seven weeks so far this season.
This week’s national question was which team’s surprising start, good or bad, was most likely to continue. The choices were the Diamondbacks, Twins, Mariners, Red Sox or Rays. Tampa came out in front by a wide margin capturing 55.24 percent of the vote while the Twins finished second at 24.63 percent. No one is really buying into the hot start by the Mariners or the slow start of the Red Sox.
That is it for this week. Remember these results were in before the Braves lost four straight games on their current road trip so we can likely expect a different look in next week’s results.
