Braves fall to Yankees despite lights-out showing from Kyle Wright
Kyle Wright put together another impressive showing while Dansby Swanson made his spring debut in a 5-1 loss to the New York Yankees on Tuesday.
Wright turning heads this spring with early performance
Wright has been one of the early surprises for the Braves this spring. He discussed Tuesday’s performance with MLB.com’s Mark Bowman.
“I think it was one of the better ones I’ve pitched [against big leaguers],” Wright said. “I attacked the zone well, and when I fell behind, I made some pitches to help me get back into it. I think it was a great experience all the way around.”
Swanson feels back to normal after spring debut
Dansby Swanson felt good after his spring debut and told MLB.com’s Mark Bowman that he feels like he is back to normal following this offseason’s wrist surgery.
“It’s nice to not have any conscious thoughts about pain or hurting or feeling like you’re limited in what you can do,” Swanson said. “It was definitely a promising sign to start that way. I’m excited to be able to move forward.”

Twins third baseman Miguel Sano will miss the start of the season after undergoing a debridement procedure on his right foot. Sano suffered the injury during the on field celebration of the Dominican Winter League title.
Luis Severino Shut Down For Two Weeks Due To Shoulder Inflammation
Luis Severino was originally scheduled to start Tuesday’s game against the Braves but he was scratched due to shoulder inflammation. An MRI exam showed inflammation in the rotator cuff. He will rest and undergo treatment for the next two weeks.

Royals catcher Salvador got a second opinion on his right elbow which confirmed damage to his UCL. He will undergo season ending Tommy John surgery on Wednesday.
