Touki Toussaint got lit up allowing five runs in the first inning to the Tigers including a three-run home run by former Braves outfielder Dustin Peterson. Pedro Florimon and Drew Lugbauer homered for Atlanta in the loss.
Mike Foltynewicz dealing with elbow soreness
Mike Foltynewicz was scratched from his scheduled start on Friday due to soreness in his pitching elbow and won’t resume throwing until after he is examined by team doctors on Saturday. The Braves are reportedly not concerned about Foltynewicz’s condition yet.
