Following Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Mets in the Grapefruit League opener, Braves manager Brian Snitker announced the team’s rotation plans through Wednesday. Per The Athletic’s David O’Brien, Mike Foltynewicz will start on Sunday and will be followed Max Fried on Monday against Washington, Sean Newcomb on Tuesday versus the Mets and Kyle Wright on Wednesday against the Cardinals.
#Braves will start Folty on Sunday vs. Astros, then Max Fried in home opener Monday vs. Nats, Newcomb Tuesday vs. Mets, and Kyle Wright Wednesday at Cardinals. Teheran was to start Wednesday but will stay back and pitch in a sim game, Snitker said.

O’Brien also notes that Julio Teheran was originally penciled in for Wednesday’s start but will stay behind and throw in a sim game.
Foltynewicz and Newcomb are already penciled in for rotation spots while Fried and Wright are vying for the fifth starters spot. Touki Toussaint is also in that competition and had a good outing on Saturday.
