The Atlanta Braves will look to start a new winning streak on Saturday when they continue their series against the Miami Marlins. Atlanta took the series opener on Thursday but fell 1-0 on Friday despite another solid outing by Mike Foltynewicz.
Despite the loss, the Braves maintained their three-game lead in the NL East thanks to Philadelphia’s loss in Toronto.
Anibal Sanchez will be on the mound for the Braves and is coming off of another good outing last time out against the Rockies. Sanchez allowed five hits and three runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out eight and walked two. Sanchez was hit hard by the Marlins back on August 14 allowing seven hits and five runs (four earned) in five innings.
Miami will counter with left-hander Wei-Yin Chen who will be facing the Braves for the third time this season. Chen allowed five hits and two runs over 5 1/3 in a no-decision at SunTrust Park on May 20. He allowed five hits and three runs in six innings while picking up a victory on July 24 at Marlins Park. Chen has been much better at home posting a 2.05 ERA at home versus a 9.35 mark in 10 road starts.
Coverage is scheduled to begin around 7:10 p.m. ET and the game will be televised nationally on FS1.
