The Cincinnati Reds announced that pitcher Jairo Capellan was killed and two other minor league players were injured in a car accident Saturday morning in the Dominican Republic. Pitcher Raul Hernandez was said to be in critical condition while outfielder Emilio Garcia was listed in stable condition.

Cubs Still Deciding Addison Russell’s Fate

Addison Russell received a 40-game suspension last month for a violation of Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy but the Cubs are still deciding what to do with him. While signs pointed to Chicago cutting ties with Russell that decision still hasn’t been made according to Patrick Mooney in a story for The Athletic.
