As expected, the Atlanta Braves made a series of roster moves ahead of Tuesday’s 5 p.m. deadline to protect eligible players from the Rule 5 Draft. The team announced that they have selected the contracts of catcher Alex Jackson along with RHP’s Patrick Weigel, Jacob Webb and Huascar Ynoa. Atlanta for the moment has a full 40-man roster.

No real surprises although there was some debate on whether or not Jackson or Ynoa would make the cut. Jackson struggled in his return to catcher while Ynoa topped at at High-A last season.
Among those left unprotected include Ray-Patrick Didder who hit .228/.343/.246 in 15 games in the Arizona Fall League. Also unprotected is Braxton Davidson who hit six home runs in the Fall League including a dramatic walk-off in the championship game only to suffer an injury while rounding the bases.
