Seven players were issued $17.9 million qualifying offers before Friday’s 5 p.m. deadline and will thus be eligible to receive compensation should those players sign elsewhere. There were not any surprises among those that did receive offers.

Patrick Corbin, SP, Diamondbacks
Yasmani Grandal, C, Dodgers
Bryce Harper, OF, Nationals
Dallas Keuchel, SP, Astros
Craig Kimbrel, RP, Red Sox
A.J. Pollack, OF, Diamondbacks
Hyun-Jin Ryu, SP, Dodgers

Some notable names who did not receive qualifying offers are Astros starter Charlie Morton, Indians outfielder Michael Brantley and Rockies infielder DJ LeMahieu. As expected, the Atlanta Braves did not issue a qualifying offer to Nick Markakis.

Nine players received qualifying offers last offseason.
