The Atlanta Braves made three more cuts to the spring roster on Wednesday sending Mike Foltynewicz to Gwinnett while reassigning catchers Ryan Lavarnway and Blake Lalli to minor league camp.
Foltynewicz was a long shot to open the season as the team's fifth starter. He has had an up and down spring and is a couple of weeks behind the other starters due to his recovery from the blood clot that ended his 2015 season prematurely. He didn't sound surprised by Wednesday's move.

It is still unknown who the Braves will turn to on April 12 when they need a fifth starter. Williams Perez appears to be a likely candidate but John Gant remains an option as well. Manny Banuelos was originally thought to have had the inside track but has struggled a bit during the spring.
