Here is a feel good story for your Thanksgiving week. Long-time Braves usher Walter Banks will be a part of SunTrust Park after all thanks to Uber who will provide him with transportation to and from the games.
“Uber is proud to provide Walter with a reliable ride to and from each game at SunTrust Park,” said Marklin. “Walter is a cornerstone of the Braves community, and we all know a home game simply wouldn’t be complete without his passion and hospitality.”
Banks started as an usher at Atlanta Fulton-County Stadium back in 1965 for the Atlanta Crackers and the next year for the Braves after they moved from Milwaukee. That continued after the team moved to Turner Field for the 1997 season.
“Walter’s unwavering presence and love for the Atlanta Braves has not gone unnoticed,” said Terry McGuirk, Braves Chairman and CEO. “I cannot imagine a Braves game without him. We’re so grateful that Uber was able to make sure Walter continues to be a meaningful part of Braves game days.”
