Memorial Day didn't quite go according to plan for the Atlanta Braves, as the bullpen imploded on the way to a four-run loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Still, the Braves will have the opportunity to remove that foul taste on Tuesday night, with game two against the Dodgers set for a 10:10 pm ET first pitch.
Tuesday night's game doesn't have the holiday backdrop, but the pitching match-up is immensely better on paper. Julio Teheran takes the ball for the Braves in opposition of reigning Cy Young (and MVP) winner Clayton Kershaw for the Dodgers, and that instantly makes for a must-watch atmosphere.
It must be noted that neither pitcher has performed up to their lofty individual standards this season, and that is especially true in the case of Kershaw. The brilliant left-hander has a 4.32 ERA on the season, and while trends indicate that his performance is likely to improve, fans of the Braves will undoubtedly be rooting for this spotty early-season showing to continue.
Stay tuned throughout the night, and let's enjoy this late night baseball together.
