Postseason Open Thread: October 21

We're doing this postseason thread thing again. And we could know both World Series teams after tonight, so it should be interesting.

Champions from both leagues could make themselves known today as the Royals lead the Blue Jays 3-1, and the Mets lead the Cubs 3-0 in their respective series. We've got another full day of playoff baseball, with the game five of the ALCS kicking off at 4:00 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1 and the NLCS starting at 8:00 p.m. ET on TBS.

Kansas City is looking to Edinson Volquez to push them into the World Series for the second consecutive year (a phrase Royals fans never expected to come into existence) while Toronto sends Marco Estrada to the mound. Volquez has walked a decent amount of batters so far in the postseason, but has managed to avoid too much damage — allowing just three runs in two starts. Meanwhile Estrada has allowed four runs in his two starts and still hasn't walked a batter, while striking out 10 in 11.2 innings.

Over in the Senior Circuit the Mets throw another of their young studs into the fray, as Steven Matz makes his second playoff start and first against the Cubs. Chicago counters with Jason Hammel, who lasted just three innings in the Division Series against the Cardinals.

It's crunch time for both the Blue Jays and the Cubs today obviously, as losses from both teams will eliminate them from the playoffs.

Who are you guys rooting for today, whether it's specific players or teams? Personally, I'm pulling for my boy Troy Tulowitzki and the Blue Jays in the ALCS and I really don't care about the NLCS.
