Arizona Fall League Recap: Camargo has 2 RBIs

Only Connor Lien and Johan Camargo were in action Monday night, but Camargo made the most of his playing time

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

After being rained out late in the week last week, the Javelinas were back in action Monday night.

(3-1) Glendale Desert Dogs 4 vs. (1-3) Peoria Javelinas 2

Box Score

  • Connor Lien, CF: 1-3, 1 BB, .182/.308/.182 (AFL Stats)
  • Johan Camargo, SS: 1-4, 2 RBIs, .333/.385/.333

No Braves pitcher appeared in the game as the Javelinas failed to rally from an early deficit and fell to the Desert Dogs 4-2. Both Braves position players that appeared in the game registered hits, but Johan Camargo's hit had the largest impact as it drove in the Javelinas' only two runs of the game. Connor is off to a slow start in the AFL, but it is only 4 games in to the league's season so we will have to wait and see how he progresses in the next week or two. Camargo, on the other hand, is off to a good start going 4 for 12 in the 3 games his has played in thus far.

Tomorrow should be interesting as Lucas Sims is listed as the probable starter for the Javelinas. Lucas got a little bit of a rough start as a 3-run homer put a damper on his debut in the AFL. Overall though he looked pretty good and hopefully will build on that experience in his next start.
