Game Thread 9/6: Braves At Marlins

After last night's debacle, the Braves will be looking to turn that mess into a distant memory with better performances in tonight's contest against the Marlins. It won't take much to top what they did last night, but here's hoping that they do so.

One guy that will play a big role in hopefully reversing Atlanta's fortunes will be Alex Wood. His last start came against these same Marlins, and Wood was absolutely dazzling as he sawed through the Marlins lineup for 8 innings and struck out 12. It'd be a bit fanciful to expect a repeat performance, but if he comes close then the Braves should have a shot at winning tonight.

Meanwhile, the Marlins will be starting Nathan Eovaldi. He too had an excellent outing last week against the Braves, but he came out on the losing effort. Just like the Braves are hoping that Wood can pull out a repeat performance, the Fish have to believe that Eovaldi has another solid outing in him tonight.

Here are the lineups, and further data on Eovaldi. One notable change for the Braves is Phil Gosselin starting at 3B tonight.
