Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Lynchburg Hillcats 2, Potomac Nationals 4

  • Jose Martinez, 1B: 3-4
  • Kevin Ahrens, 3B: 2-3, BB, CS
  • Emerson Landoni, 2B: 1-3, 2B, BB
  • Tyler Tewell, DH: 1-4, 2B
  • Blair Walters, SP: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R(1 ER), 4 BB, 4 K
  • Brady Feigl, RP: 1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K
The Hillcats had a rough go of it last night in their series opener with the P-Nats, falling 4-2. Jose Martinez and Kevin Ahrens each notched multi-hit games in the loss, while Emerson Landoni and Tyler Tewell each chipped in with a double. Blair Walters was shaky in his start, giving up 8 baserunners across 6 innings, but was hurt by an error in the first from Ahrens. Brady Feigl also had a rough go of it in relief, giving up two runs in what would prove to be the difference in the game. Lynchburg will try to even the series tonight at 7 pm.

Johnson City Cardinals 2, Danville Braves 1

  • Ozhaino Albies, SS: 1-4
  • Tanner Krietemeier, 1B: 0-1, 2 BB
  • Jose Morel, LF; 0-2, BB
  • Oriel L Caicedo, SP: 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 0 BB, 2 K
Danville was one-hit last night in their playoff opener by the JC-Cards ans starting pitcher Juan Perez. Perez stuck out 10 D-Braves in 6 innings, walked three, and gave up the lone Danville hit to (who else?) Ozhaino Albies. Oriel L Caicedo tossed a quality start of his own, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings of work, but unfortunately it would not be enough for Danville. The D-Braves will look to get into the win column tonight at 7 pm, with Andrew Waszak toeing the rubber.
