The Atlanta Braves have claimed left handed pitcher Dustin Richardson off waivers from the Florida Marlins. This season the 27 year old had appeared in 23 games for AAA New Orleans, earning a 3-1 record, 3.66 ERA, a 1.59 WHIP, and 9.8 K/9 in 32 innings. He was originally a 5th round selection of the Boston Red Sox in 2006, and appeared in 29 games for Boston between 2009 and 2010, compling a 3.31 ERA and a 2.02 WHIP in 16.1 Major League innings. At 6'6", 220 pounds, he's an imposing presence on the mound, and he has good stuff, so the Braves will send him to AAA Gwinnett to see if they can yet again catch lefty lightining in a bottle through the waiver claim process.
