We HAVE to get to Johan early
we’re dead if he holds us scoreless through the first few innings.

Or just get him out of the game early with a lot of long at-bats and get into that bullpen.
Personally, I prefer the former – these late-inning “heroics” are hectic.

Damn thats a good looking line-up.
A lot of room in right center, if he hits one there we can dance in the streets, the 2-1....

it was a triple and an error that scored

Well, since the error only allowed him to advance instead of safely reach
Since the next batter got a hit, it’s assumed he’d have scored anyway.
anyone else absolutely hate
the routes melky takes for balls? he seems to run straight to the ball and then let it go by him and then just chase it to the wall

ankiel is
1000X better defender than melky
melky’s body is built to remain stationary
And that also doesn't disagree with...
“none of our CFs take good routes” because Ankiel doesn’t. He may do better than Melky or McLouth, but he’s still not good.

(in a 162 game season)
The wording now is 3.1 plate appearances per team game, so it’s built to sustain strike shortened games or rule changes.
Let's wait until a week or two to go...
until then, the math is too variable (depending on several players).
Eh, it's fun to have a running tally
and the math isn’t so hard that it’s a pain to update based on circumstances.
But it's almost sure to be wrong...
you have to factor in CarGo, Pujols, Votto, among others, and how they play over a full month. Just too many variables to have any sort of accuracy.
Its Jason Heyward!

I have no clue
I wasn’t even 2 when that game was played, but I’ve heard all about it, how there was a rain delay and the starting pitchers didn’t even get out of the fourth inning, so each bullpen had to throw for like 15 innings.
Also known as the "Rick Camp" game
Since Rick Camp was batting in the bottom of the 18th, Braves down 1 with two outs, and he hit a home run to tie the game at 11.

same with Chipper. Looking back on that play, I wish he hadn’t made it. But look, Infante is playing regularly because Chipper got hurt and might win the batting title.

at this point in his career
i think he’d behind oswalt, in any case he’s not a legitimate ace anymore, its a game we couldnt lose with hudson going for us
fine everyone else
rationalize losing to santana with huddy going for us. it doesnt get much easier than this in the playoffs
Please.
The only contender starter legitimately better than Johan is Halladay.
It’ll be much easier against:
The hole Reds rotation.
Hamels
Oswalt
Richard
Whoever else the Pad’s have. (Latos is still out? I think?)

Seriously, a guy is “back end” because you think he’d be behind Doc and Oswalt? Might as well call Hudson a #2 then, because he’d be behind Doc.

I kinda hate Moylan.
Maybe it’s selective memory and confirmation bias and stuff, but he seems to be consistently terrible every time I tune in.
I didn't turn in the rest of this series
Was he in any of those nights?

So I just don’t know.
Gotta say, Blanco has been great tonight
