Open Thread 9/2: Braves vs. Mets

New York Mets at Atlanta Braves, Sep 2, 2010 7:10 PM EDT

The Braves can complete a four game sweep of the Mets tonight with another good performance from the offense and Tim Hudson. Hudson was recently named NL Pitcher of the Month of August and has pitched himself into Cy Young contention. Jason Heyward and Omar Infante have been firing on all cylinders as of late at the top of the Braves lineup, especially with their performances last night.

Braves Lineup:

1. Omar Infante, 2B
2. Jason Heyward, RF
3. Martin Prado, 3B
4. Derrek Lee, 1B
5. Brian McCann, C
6. Matt Diaz, LF
7. Alex Gonzalez, SS
8. Melky Cabrera, CF
9. Tim Hudson, P

We HAVE to get to Johan early

we’re dead if he holds us scoreless through the first few innings.

Or just get him out of the game early with a lot of long at-bats and get into that bullpen.

Personally, I prefer the former – these late-inning “heroics” are hectic.

A lot of room in right center, if he hits one there we can dance in the streets, the 2-1....

haha

I’ve never liked Jeter, most overrated player in the past 10 years…..going off of how people rate him of course, so before people start to bash me, I don’t think he’s bad, but not as good as the media portrays

bad game all around...

i know melky had three hits on the night, but i would’ve pinch hit with glaus there and left ankiel in to play CF…just my opinion

ESPN LOVES THIS!

They are eating it up “Phillies are back in this race, they’re offense is awesome, Ryan Howard and Chase Utley are back”

This is sickening!

I at least want extra innings.

Phils have to fly to Milwaukee and play tomorrow so might as well make them work a bit late tonight.

No team had given up 20 hits in a 9-inning game & won since #RedSox did it vs. #Rangers on 8/12/08. But #Phillies did it tonight at Coors.
