It's the final game of the first half, and if all goes well the Braves will end the day with a 6-game lead in the NL East. That seems amazing just to say, but it's true. A win here today means a 6-game lead over the Mets. If the Phillies lose as well, our lead would be 6.5 over them. At 52-35, we also have the best record in the NL by two games over the Padres.
All that is quite a contrast from where we were 2 months ago: 13-18 and 6 games out of first place. Since then, we've gone 39-17 (.696) and have picked up 11 games in the standings. I love this team, don't you?
Here's the lineup for the first-half finale, which pits Derek Lowe against Johan Santana. Guess what? No B lineup today! It's all the regulars plus Infante in right and Diaz in left:
As a side note, Omar Infante is now hitting .328, thanks to his 7 hits in the first 2 games. He's really, really struggled against Santana in his career; let's hope his hot streak outweighs Santana's mojo. Also, as you can see, there's no Jose Reyes for the Mets.

2011 --- what will we do about 1B, 3B, LF, CF??? Discuss.
I’d prefer moving Prado to 3B (there aren’t many good 3B available) and signing a 2B like Orlando Hudson or Felipe Lopez. Then sign Glaus, DLee, Berkman, Konerko, LaRoche or Huff for a 1 year deal for 1B until Freeman is ready (probably won’t all be available). LF, I like the platoon of Diaz and Hinske.
CF I have no idea… Coco Crisp???

What chance is there that he’s still not 100% from the disabling left adductor strain from late April? Isn’t that one of those lingering type injuries that keep getting tweaked over and over?
I suspect that this is the case.
