Atlanta Braves Fan Confidence Continues to Crawl Higher
I guess it's a good sign when the fan confidence in the team has been on an upward tick for the past two months. There's nothing in the news to really cause the Atlanta Braves Fan Confidence to suddenly jolt upwards or downwards, so it's nice to see that the confidence in the team continues its steady progression upwards as spring training opens.
The Jair Jurrjens scare might have kept the confidence from climbing higher. Of course, the news of the signing of top international prospect Edward Salcedo should bolster the confidence. Once the news of that signing becomes official, then I expect to see even more improvement, as that signing is the equivalent of a first round draft pick.

PUJOLS!....
why Frank Wren can’t realize he’s more valuable than the Cardinals desired package of Reyes, Acosta, and Gress, I’ll never know. Until then, I’m voting 1.

This.
"My team of nine guys who hit like Albert Pujols and never ever bunt just beat your team with one Shane Victorino 472 to 3."

Why? Let’s break the lineup down with some reasonable HR projections:
1. McLouth – 23 HRs
2. Prado – 8-10 HRs
3. Chipper – 20 Hrs
4. Glaus – 30 HRs
5. McCann – 24 HRs
6. Escobar – 14 HRs
7. Cabrera – 8 HRs
8. Diaz – 15 HRs
8B. Heyward – 14 HRs
Bench:
Hinske – 10 HRs
Ross – 6 HRs
Infante – 7 HRs
If my math is right, that is somewhere around 180 HRs. That would have ranked right around 10th in all of baseball last season. This team has enough power to compete right now. What you mean, instead of a “big bat” is “guaranteed health” and that, quite frankly, is a commodity that does not exist.
Now granted, I just made all of those numbers up by myself, but they should be fairly close to any reasonable projection for our lineup.
