No Braves Winter FanFest for 2010
Apparently, the Braves have decided to forgo FanFest for this year. There will be instead only a Braves Caravan. I figured as much when I e-mailed them the end of December and received an e-mail this past Monday telling me that "they could announce they were doing a Caravan," but wouldn't answer my question about there being a FanFest. In the same message board post on the Braves Fan Forum about FanFest 2010, someone posted a link to Facebook group about being upset that there won't be a FanFest, which is how I found out about the "announcement."
Why is it that every other team makes FanFest their biggest fan-oriented offseason event and the Braves can't even have one (or try to charge a buttload to attend one)? Just because you take a few players (most of whom probably are not anyone worth seeing) to cities around the South, doesn't make it FanFest. The same players won't be going to every stop, I'm sure, so if you planned on getting your favorite player's autograph, and the Caravan isn't going to a city near you, you'll just have to wait.
What will they get rid of next?

Nice work
Good detective work. I’m sad to see the ‘Fest go. I think they had the best idea when they did it at the GWCC, but if you can’t afford that, then you already have a perfect venue in, I don’t know, you’re own ballpark.
As another addition to the whole fan experience thing I had a thought they should combine the FanFest with a Bar-B-Q fest, and the top 3 or 4 winners should be invited back to be guest bar-b-q-ers during the season… of course, that goes along with the fact that I think there should be a LOT more bar-b-q options at the Ted… we’re in the SOUTH for the love of Pujols.

Pretty sure the Phillies have been doing a caravan for years. It was originally a banquet type thing, but has evolved into an autograph signing at a mall. As far as I know, there’s never been a fanfest. The last time I can recall one was after the 1994 season at the Vet, when it was essentially a giant clearance sale for tons of merch that was left over.
I was beginning to think it was getting close to Fanfest time, so this news is very disapointing. Not a wise decision to spurn the fans in already unfriendly economic times. All i can say is the Caravan roster better get a boost, because last years group in Athens of Blaine Boyer, Clint Sammons, Greg McMichael, and Brad Clontz left quite alot to be desired, but i forgave them because i knew that they would also have fanfest.

Think the caravan would make the trip out to Arizona?
It would definately be warmer. It was 72 at my house yesterday.
Let Jason Heyward start the season in RF, and get the hell out of his way.
glanced at the list...
how much did academy sports pay them to pull this move?
"If I have asthma, they won't let me scuba. And if I can’t scuba, then what’s this all been about?? What am I working toward??"
I'd guess a lot
but what exactly is Acadamy Sports? Like a Dick’s or Sports Authority store? Or is it more like a Bass Pro shop? I

Speaking of the devil
Tentative scheduling for Alabama’s stops on the tour are already being made.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
