Kenshin Kawakami = K2
I know people have been searching for a nickname for Kenshin Kawakami, and I think I may have stumbled upon one this morning. It may have already been said, but what about K2?
Think about it. When you hear about the tallest mountains in the Himalayas, what mountain do you think of? Mount Everest. But a deadlier mountain is just around the corner in K2. Other teams looking at the Braves are going to be more worried about Tommy Hanson, Tim Hudson, JJ and even Derek Lowe, but they won't see the Ace-killer K2 coming. Your thoughts?

I'll stick with "River Pujols"
Since his name roughly breaks down to:
Kawa – “river”
Kami – “Pujols”
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
That is awesome.

Oh yea
Pujols the “Devine” one… I know we have asigned him that designation…but I would rather worship a Brave than a red bird!
translation
Kami in Japanese means Devine or God….as Kami Kazzi…(Devine wind)…which happens to me for some reason after a meal at Cracker Barrel…Damn those beans!
/facepalm
You’ve missed it. The word you’re looking for is DIvine, DEvine refers to Grand-Slam Joey.
does anybody know the odds on giving up 2 grand slams in ur first 2 appearances in the majors? must be in the 10 millions….

Well, he is the only pitcher to ever do it, so the odds are 1 in however many people have pitched 2 times in the majors (or minors for that matter).

I’ll go with the “Ace Slayer’”.. we’re gonna be counting on him to continue his dominance against Halladay, Santana, and Josh Johnson this year.

Yeah Yeah
I don’t why “KK/Dragon Slayer/Ace Killer” gets such a bad beat because he making decent money for a back of the rotation pitcher with great upside when he finally figures out the MLs (Size of Ball/Strike Zone/Umps giving some calls on the corners) he will be a solid #3 this coming year. He is veteran and adding one more year for adjustments he can prove that he can match up to ANYONE in the NL pitch for pitch. I wouldn’t be surprised to see his put up with 3.5 ERA 7 K/9 and with between 13-16 wins…Once the offense give some runs I can see this more the case and he can provide more consistency every time he goes to the mound…..“Ace Killer” is his nickname till that faulters in the future….
lol. All true, but dude, “Dragon Slayer” is totally better than “Ace Killer.”

I...
agree Dragon Slayer sound better but in fact he has been a ACE KILLER in every sense of the word….
But the thing is, with Dragon Slayer…..“Ace Killer” is implied. It just has a Japanese twist to it.

Very...
True and give the implied Japanese slant though he even the non PC sense he is the Ace Killer with out the given him the the Non-PC name…Though it would give him more hype if everyone would give him that name but it just won’t happen in this new non PC world ….. Agree Dragon Slayer is a more marketable name in the Japanese market to draw more Japanese player in the fold for the braves for the future…Otherwise just another name for us American to enjoy!!!
How do you figure?
As an almost 2-WAR player, he was worth about $8 mil last year while transitioning to a new league and a new country. He was also paid about $8 mil last year. So I’m unsure how he’s either “middling,” “back-end,” or “making too much money.”

$7.667M is not 8M but I get your point though he is more that quality player to get paid $6.667M this year and is more than most paid 4/5th starter…IMO he will be a under paid #3 starter by the end of 10’
Rotation spot doesn't matter.
Outside of the first week of the season and the playoffs, you pitch when it’s your turn.

Is K2 simpler than KK? Does it sound better? I think not. I just like calling him Ken personally.
I wrote a novel, it's about baseball, you should buy it: https://www.createspace.com/3407939

same
I don’t think K2 sounds better or more catchy than KK. Plus I think if we were to go down that route, K^2 (ie. K squared) would be better than K2. Still like KK the best

Yeah, I usually refer to him as Ken.

Only when we’re hanging out. When we’re at the ballpark though, its strictly Mr. K.

He is “The Situation”.
Here are Pujols's stats: 1.000/1.000/4.000/5.000. That's right. He is batting a thousand, with a thousand OBP (naturally), and every hit has been a home run, and thus his OPS is a perfect 5.000.
