I'd be happy if every game the rest of the season was like this one -- lots of early runs, good pitching, a Braves win. Derek Lowe bounced back from the blister he suffered last start to get his 15th win, and Kenshin Kawakami picked up the piggy-back-start save by 1-hitting the Mets over the last 4 innings. Maybe we found something that can work with 6 starters next year... I mean, the Lowe-Kawakami combo only cost us $22 million a year, but if they can do this every fifth day we might be on to something. (Fat chance, right?)
The Braves offense got homeruns from Garret Anderson, Matt Diaz (again), and Chipper Jones, all against the Mets starter, Pat Misch. It will never, never, ever, never get old beating up on the Mets. Derek Lowe even chipped in with 2 hits, and Kawakami got on base with a walk -- a good day all around for Braves pitchers.
I didn't do too much of watching this game... it was the season premier of Heroes -- priorities.
