Everyone Jump on the Frenchy Francoeur Bandwagon

First off, that new guy that Fox Sports South whatever has on the Braves pre-game show refers to Francoeur as "Frenchy Francoeur," and that drives me up a freaking wall. His name is either Frenchy or Francoeur, not both! Where do they find these idiot announcers?

Anyway, Bowman has a fluff piece up about Francoeur, D-Fab has a fluff blog (redundant?) up about Francoeur, and USA Today has a piece on him and his new stance, and I'm sure we'll see more and more of these as the days go by, but let's just take this one month at a time. If Francoeur puts up a good month, and then another good month right after that one, then I'll be impressed. Until then, let's not load up the Frenchy bandwagon just yet.

The AJC is jumping into the multi-media market with "get to know your Braves" video's, Francoeur was up first:

I don't get the appeal...

… and where do they find these hacks to run Braves Live? What an amateur outfit. I swear a group of random ass fans could do better.

Oh, Bobby.

Frenchy Francoeur

Where do they find these guys? I’m not drinking the Frenchy kool-aid yet, but I will say that he seemed to be seeing the ball better. Lets see how he does for the rest of the season, but am feeling some hope for him, which I didn’t previously.

Thats what the media does...

Frenchy could be a really hot story if he has a nice comeback story. They will hype this story up for sure.

really?

With those who don't give a damn about baseball, I can only sympathize. I do not resent them. I am even willing to concede that many of them are physically clean, good to their mothers and in favor of world peace. But while the game is on, I can't think of anything to say to them.

Just a fan....

.230 or .330 he is my favorite. I hope he rebounds!

One group that is not hyping up Francoeur is the Atlanta Braves. He is basically gone from their tv,radio, and print ads. They realized the misake the made in making him one of the centerpieces of their ad campaign too early in his career. Now the ads are Chipper, McCann, and Lowe.

Personally, I think that’s a better idea anyway. I sincerely hope he gets it going this year, but I’ll bet his attitude will be a hell of a lot better and more focused if he’s not the center of attention

I'm not sold...

…on his new stance. His first at bat looked good, but it was a first pitch fast ball. To Frenchy. What was Myers thinking?? His other AB’s didn’t look smooth. His toe tap was back near the end of the game, and he seemed to be pulling off everything. When he starts getting pitched low and away, he will struggle.

I’ve been a great fan of Frenchy since he stormed into the league on ‘05 on a tear hitting nearly .400 for his first month, but something happened – I don’t know what – and he doesn’t seem like the same hitter. Maybe he got married, the fame got him, who knows, but he needs to go back to what got him there.

He still looks pudgy to me – like he hasn’t lost any of that weight. I don’t think he looked that great either, he would have hit that homerun last year, too. It was a horrible pitch that he could easily pull. I’m not fully convinced.

That walk-off grand slam was fucking awesome though.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Milton Bradley owns the best walk off grand slam in baseball history, bar none. I wish I decided to go to the game that night.

Hrm

I took a flyer on Francoeur in the last round of by fantasy baseball draft. I’m really hoping he’s going for 30-100 this year. Go Jeff go!

I miss Katie Temple. They need some hottie reporting.....

….Not some goober in glasses who, unfortunately yes, refers to Jeff as ‘Frenchy Francoeur’……what a dumbass

But yeah, this is begging for a Photoshop of Francoeur wearing a beret, skeevy mustache, and red & white striped shirt

LOL

You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the goddamn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all.

p.s.

Go Frenchy!!!
