[With Tom Glavine pitching three strong scoreless innings, Jo-Jo Reyes] struck out six in 4 1/3 innings scoreless innings of a minor-league game against the Nationals. He allowed only two hits and a walk. [Tommy Hanson] will pitch in a minor-league game on Tuesday. [Javier Vazquez], who pitched for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic, takes his turn for the Braves on Tuesday.
The young pitchers are getting replaced by the old.
It's a good problem to have, every pitcher young and old pitching well. I have been and continue to be most encouraged by Jo-Jo Reyes. He's the perfect example of a young pitcher who takes a little longer to come around.

I dont think it really matters who wins the fifth spot. I really want Jo Jo to come around but if he has to do it at AAA with Morton, Hanson, and maybe Campillo then that makes the talent pool really deep if you have an injury.
Proof that when posting while high or intoxicated can lead to some really funny posts

Trades
Aren’t Carlyle and Campillo most valuable to the Braves in their current roles? I understand there isn’t room for everyone, but I don’t see them bringing much back to the Braves in a trade. Jo-Jo is probably the best trading chip right now, even though (and also probably because) he’s the guy out of this 5th starter mix you’d least want to move.

I don't know what JoJo could bring in a trade
Wren was offering him to the White Sox as part of the Vazquez deal, and they turned him down.
Yeah, he’s been having a good spring since then, but it’s still just spring, the only way he’s going to build any actual trade value back is to pitch well on the Major League level (or, at the least, a full season of quality work at AAA). Until he has a chance to do that, he’s not going to bring much in return
I think, really, it makes no sense to trade Reyes at this point, his value is low and he actually has the potential to greatly raise it this season.

I totally agree with that. He hasn’t shown anything except mere flashes – this only spring and while he’s faced ML hitting – he’s also faced minor league guys that we all know he can dominate. I just don’t think it’s going to happen anytime soon..

I was there
Jo Jo looked great during this game……He’s lost a lot of weight and just looks more comfortable on the mound. His team was playing basically the AAA Nationals team, which included Ryan Langerhans and Pete Orr. Incidentally, James Parr came on after Jo Jo.
And the pictures:

Jo Jo

Pharr (I have to call him that….it’s become such a necessity……)
I was at Disney just one day, and half the minor league guys were on the road while the other half played against the AA and AAA Nationals. I got to see Gorkys, Ka’aihue, and a few others. I’ll post a few more shots and tell a story or two later. Nothing really exciting, so don’t expect too much!
