Cross this one off the list
Well, Hardy is no longer with the Brew Crew, so this should pretty much eliminate all trade talk of Yunel...although there hasn't been any such talk for some time now...
"The Minnesota Twins completed a trade Friday to acquire shortstop J.J. Hardy from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for centerfielder Carlos Gomez.
Hardy's presence means Orlando Cabrera will not be back in Minnesota, and that the Brewers are indeed moving forward with Alcides Escobar as their shortstop.
It's also a sign that Denard Span is going to play center for the Twins in 2010, unless they acquire one this winter. Here's where Mike Cameron's name is a fit, but Minnesota's payroll just went up with the addition of Hardy, who could make as much as $7 million via arbitration.
Gomez gives the Brewers a plus defender in center field, but his offensive struggles are a concern."

Well seriously I never thought a Yunel trade talk was nothing more than suggestion more than anything. But now that puts Cameron officially out of the picture in Milwaukee and should be on the top of the list for a RH OF bat that will be cheap that plays good defensive that fits the short term plans as a stopgap type till Heyward is ready fulltime later in 10’ next season. 1 yr deal with option at 8-9M could be possible even though we would still have to try to dumb Lower/KK salary in order to resign Laroche and Gonzo. Another IMO could be Derosa that could play RF and is versatile enough that when Heyward does come in fulltime to play other positions. He would be the super utility guy in which we do have in Infante but could be insurance for Prado and as Chipper’s back up. This lineup needs a powerbat either in OF or 1B which the Franky boy will need to decide which one is worth the money to spend.
We will see…

I like the Derosa idea as much as any...
sign Derosa and Glaus and get after it.

Re: Mike Cameron
Yeah, i’d like to have him in CF, but im worried about his age. He’ll be 37 at the start of the 2010 season. He’s bound to see his power numbers drop.

that's the great thing about a one year deal...
with Schafer and Heyward waiting in the wings. If he struggles, so long as you didn’t pay him too much, it’s not something you can’t cover up.

that's wishful thinking
but we all know Bobby and how f’ing loyal he is to his veterans. Cameron could be hitting .185 and he would still be playing everyday.

Anyone who had Yunel marked down as tradebait on their list is nuts.
